Invitations: Kate's Lollipop Invitations!

A few months ago, I picked up a circle cutter made by my idol, Martha Stewart. I figured I would find some fun uses for it, and I found a great one! I made Kate's lollipop birthday invitations with it! It's a really cool tool, that allows you to cut circles in many sizes, up to 5.5 inches. Each invite I made required 3 circles in different sizes. It takes a bit of strength if you are cutting cardstock, and I have to admit that my arms were actually sore the next day! Who gets sore from crafting?! Apparently me.

Let me know if you decide to make these! I'd be happy to give some advice! If you don't have the energy to make them? I can make them for you.....when my arms recover. :)

  7. I love that you do so many crafts like myself. It makes me feel sane....I am always crafting and doing crazy things! Anyhow I found you some lollipops if you haven't already found them. I was at World Market yesterday and they had an entire lollipop display tree!

  8. Do you know what I think you need?? A Pazzle or Cricut. I have the Pazzle Inspiration Cutter. It costs about 3 times as much as Cricut but you dont have to buy cartridges for it. For as much paper crafting as you do this would make life so much easier for you. I do vinyl on it all the time too and stickers because I sell dog treats and such. Just a thought....then your arm wouldnt get so tired. ha ha.

  11. Air - I have been wanting to learn about those fancy cutting machines! I don't scrapbook, so I'm not very familiar with them! Please email me with any advice you have! kim@thetomkatstudio.com

I still have to get some BIG lollipops. I was going to try Walgreens/CVS. Did World Market have the BIG swirly ones?

  12. World Market had big and small swirly ones in one color and then multi colored! I just looked over and there they were! I should have taken a photo on my phone. They were there in the middle of the store towards the back with the kids stuff in ours...

Also I will email you with the cutting machine advice. I dont really scrapbook either. Honestly I got one solely for paper crafting and vinyl cutting. I love doing all of those things. I promise you that its a purchase you will not regret. You could be cutting custom labels for your etsy shop, etc. And now they sell so many fun kinds of paper for that. My favorite is Post-it brand. I will email you soon!

  14. Kim,

I'm in the middle of planning a candy baby shower for a friend. I was trying to think of a way to make candy or lollipop invites and stumbled upon your blog. These lolli invites are too precious. Can you tell me how big they are. I have a cricut machine to cut out the circles with, just wasn't sure the sizes. Also, what size envelopes do these fit into? I'd appreciate any advice.

    Thanks,

    Jennifer

  20. I don't know about everyone else but one of my stumbling blocks is always finding just the right copy for invites. This would be a great new topic to post.
