Still dreaming about it, but not getting anything done! I'm having a creative block for designing Kate's invitations, (the first step)! I've come up with quite a few, but none are "clicking" just yet. In the meantime, I thought I'd share more inspiration photos so you can dream along with me....

ReplyDeleteYou probably have already seen this....but I love the door.
Also, family fun has some fairy village houses that are too cute....and I love Posh Tot Events Fairy party..........I have been collecting fairy party thing too, and we have the cutest fairies and wooden play house....I forget the brand but I have never seen its equivalent!.....I think the brand of the fairies are folklore...they sell them on a lot of the Waldorf sites.

ReplyDeleteI was close............
Here it is, we have 4 of them soo cute!
You could hire that girl who dresses as a fairy for the Renaissance Festival...she plays a little flute and everything...I've seen her on a couple blogs so I think she does do parties.
ReplyDeleteBeautiful ideas! Pom-poms are my favorite, I used them at my daughter's princess party in the fall. Looks like it will be a gorgeous party!
ReplyDeleteFor the invitation: super soft almost angel looking fairy wings would be really sweet. If you go with muted colors and lots of white the angel wing look would add that perfect softness, and if you go bright fairy stuff the butterfly wings would be so cute.
ReplyDeleteHi Kim, I also live in Gilbert! What nice pictures. I threw my daughter a fairy party when she was 5, (she's 14 now) and it was sooo fun. I made all the girls come in fairy attire and I had made wings and a flower head band for them when they arrived. I had fairy food, little sandwiches and snacks and fairy cakes. I had them all sitting at small table tops covered to look like red toadstools. We had a craft, they all made fairy wands that I had made ahead with a wooden star gluesd on a dowl. They were to add the glitter and say the magic words to make it magical. We had a beautiful fairy come to the party and tell fairy stories and do some fairy magic. Then as the girls went home they all got a fairy ball (a super bounce ball that lit up when you bounced it) sooo cute. She love it! The cake was a barbie doll sitting on a red cake toadstool. I had sooo much fun planing and putting everything together. I miss having a "little" girl.
ReplyDeleteHow adorable is that cupcake stand covered in ribbons. I have not seen that before. Will keep my eyes open for you but I know your party will be FABULOUS!!!!!
ReplyDeleteLOVING the tutus with the silks attached. SO sweet.
ReplyDeleteI love the idea of using a ton of huge paper flowers all over for decor... similar to that Jose Villa image (I also LOVE that party!). I know where you can get huge, vivid paper flowers if you want the website info, just send me a message! That would add a lot of whimsy and the "garden fairy" feel that you're going for, and it would be a huge visual impact!
ReplyDeletehi kim. lovely collection of pics! can't wait to see what you come up with for kate's birthday. not sure if this will help but i've recently had to make a cake n biscuits for a fairy party..i blogged about it with some links to other fairy parties that might perhaps be of inspiration...

ReplyDeleteIt is always so difficult to come up for something for our own daughters! You just want it to be perfect, but the creativity will flow and you will come up with something spectacular as always ;o). Can't wait to see the whole party together. If I see something I will send it your way!
ReplyDeleteJust found your blog ~ lovely. :)
ReplyDeleteI adore the chandelier with the paper poms. The bright melon colors are so fabulous and eyecatching! And what is a fairy party without glitter! Everything should have a sprinkle of fairy dust... Happy Planning!

My colors are different than yours. My daughter only likes pink & purple now! ha. I love orange... maybe she'll let me sneak it in:-)
ReplyDeleteCan't wait to see what you come up with for your fairy party! I'm thinking cookies with a litttle disco dust for sure! (maybe on fairy wings or something)
ReplyDeleteHappy creating!
Those are beautiful party photos! I've been dying to make those hanging pom poms! Maybe I'll just make some to hang around the house somewhere for spring.

Hi Kim,
ReplyDeleteI'm not sure if you follow The Celebration Shoppe's blog but they just posted a woodland fairy theme: http://blog.thecelebrationshoppe.com/2010/02/19/introducing-woodland-fairy/.
What I thought might be good for you is at the very end of the post they show a fairy wand cookie cutter that would be super cute for your party. I think she sells it in her shoppe for $1.50. Locally you might be able to find it at ABC Bakery in PHX. They carry a lot of cookie cutters. You might also find some fairy themed candy molds there too! If you are interested you might just want to call to see if they have what you want. Last fall I was looking for a microphone mold and I called and they actually had it and held a couple for me. Happy Planning!

Thank you for all of the links, ladies! Great ideas!
ReplyDeleteHi Kim,
ReplyDeleteLove your site. You are such an inspiration! For invitations I wasn't sure if you were thinking of paper or something different. How about a message in a bottle like invite. You could put small items in it like butterflies, mushrooms, ladybugs. Some translucent glitter could be pixie dust. Soft pink or green paper would work with the theme for the message inside. I have a few pics on my blog of a fairy table. http://thecupcakepartyparlour.blogspot.com/
oh! i am in the same boat! my little guy is turning 8 at the beginning of april and ugh! i havent done a thing! i used to start out about 6 months. i think i am going to copy one of the blogs i follow to the t so maybe thats why. good luck and i will keep my eyes out for you!
