The TomKat Studio: DIY (Do It Yourself, Please!)

I am excited to tell you that the DIY kits are in production for my frames! I am quickly figuring out that I cannot keep up with demand for everything I make, so it's time to put YOU to work!
{small custom frame I made recently}
The frame kits will include a 12x12 frame (custom made locally for my shop!), hardware, instructions, and possibly paper and flower options to choose from. Adding rhinestones will also be an option. Certain papers work better (bubbling can be an issue) and I would offer papers that I have the best success with. What are your thoughts? Would you just want the frames/hardware/instructions, or the decorative options, too?

{custom frame made for heather}
You may have noticed that my Etsy shop continues to be "on vacation". Trust me, I am not on vacation. Things were just getting too busy and stressful that I decided to take a break, re-evaluate and figure out the best way to move forward! I have so many ideas but really need to take time to figure out what makes the most sense on my limited time schedule. Thank you for your patience if you've tried to email/convo me and I haven't replied yet!

Other exciting news about the DIY branch of The TomKat Studio....
I am starting to work on PRINTABLE invitation designs and party supplies! I can't seem to find the time to design/print/cut/fold/assemble/package/ship all of my orders, so I'm ready for you to Do-It-Yourself! I design, you print & assemble?

What do you say? Are you up for it?

Get ready to get your craft on!

This sounds like a great idea!
Also, w/ some of your printing and invitation ideas, what you COULD do, is get them printed by a real printer so that you have inventory. It's really inexpensive to get things printed overseas...but you'd have to do much larger quantities. E-mail me if you want to discuss...

I LOVE these ideas. Printable invitations and printable party packages are really appealing to me, especially from a budgetary point of view! I will be super excited to see everything when you list them!

I think these are great ideas. As far as the frames go I'd love to just get the frame and hardware from you b/c I cannot seem to find 12x12 frames anywhere around my neck of the woods. I would love the printable party designs also. I love making my own invites for my daughters parties but I don't have the software to do the pretty wording and designs. Great ideas. I would be interested in it all.

Yes to it all Kim! Great ideas! I need your deco ideas, because I LOVE your flowers! Also, what kind of printer do you recommend? Ours, well, it stinks. ;) I would LOVE to have the option of printing Tomkat designs!

Thank you for all the feedback!

Andra - I prefer Canon printers. I love my PixmaPro! I am definitely going to be selling the frames and frame DIY kits at the holiday boutique! :)

When you are ready to sell your DIY frame kits, are you going to post an update on your blog, or should we be checking your etsy site for availability? Excited to purchase one! So beautiful!

Great idea! I was thinking about trying these out myself but have no idea where to start, a kit would be perfect. Personally, I'd like an all inclusive kit with the paper/flower option. Congrats on expanding your line Kim and being an inspiration!!
