Kid Crafting: Tommy's "Beautiful" Painting

This is what happens when you leave your 3-year old alone in the craft room for 5 minutes (or maybe 10 minutes?) Keep in mind, I gave him a little bit of ONE color to paint with. He went ahead and helped himself to Mommy's stash. I was upset at first (this isn't washable paint), but when he looked up at me and said, "But, I was making a beautiful picture for YOU, mommy"....my heart melted and we played "clean up"!

This happens regularly at our house! I actually call Lil O my Kimmi because she is always making cards and invitations for her friends! She has gone through a box of my envelopes already. She uses anything she can find for glue since I don't let her have glue (glitter nail polish, chapstick, even toothpaste once!). She usually uses her playdough scissors too. So I finally gave in and got her a glue stick and real kid scissors for Valentines so she could make cards and it was great for a day. Next thing I knew she had cut up her new umbrella my mom gave her! But I am a sucker for her "artwork" and she is very talented so I let her do it :) Just see it as you are nuturing their artistic side!
